Mattias Collin is an Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer and Head of the Division of Infection Medicine at Lund University, Sweden. He defended his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at Lunds University in 2001 and did postdoctoral training 2001-2004 at Rockfeller University. Thereafter he has been leading his own research group at at the Division of Infection Medicine at Lund University. His research is focused on bacterial enzymatic modification of immunoglobulin glycosylation. His group has described how such enzymes contributes to bacterial immune evasion during infections, but also how these activities can be exploited as drugs against autoimmunity and as biotechnological tools used to characterize and modify antibodies.
